I typically am working on several research projects concurrently. Broadly, I'm interested in the way social identity influences how people use technology, especially how they use technology to build relationships, communities, and complex socio-technical systems in new ways. I'm also interested in how design choices influence who uses the technology, how they use it, and why they use it.

Here's some examples of projects I am or have worked on:

  • Trust in Bitcoin Online Communities

  • LGBTQ Dating App Use

  • Serious Games and Avatar Identification

  • Sexual Assault Text-Based Chat Hotlines: Use, Efficacy, and Outreach on College Campuses

  • Sexualization of Men and Women on Video Game Covers and Self-Stereotyping
